September's free games continue to roll out and expire, with new giveaways happening on Amazon Prime Gaming (aka Amazon Luna), Steam, Epic Games Store, Itch.io, and more. If you game on a PC, you should be able to claim about 30 free games throughout this month, covering both indie titles and bigger AAA releases. Admittedly, most of the freebies fall under the former category, but that doesn't mean they aren't quality projects.
Console players rarely get to claim complete freebies, but they can at least check out September's new Game Pass and PS Plus games, both of which contain a few notable names. As long as somebody keeps that subscription going, they will always have something new to try, including titles they might never have otherwise played.
Most giveaways only last a couple of days, so don't wait too long to act.

One of September's biggest free-to-keep Steam games, Crystal Crisis is a puzzle fighting game that supports both single-player and multiplayer. We don't get many puzzle battle titles, and this 2019 release is a nice love letter to the subgenre while still offering a competent modern take. The story mode features references to Cave Story, which was also developed by Nicalis Inc., and offers different progression paths.

Arena of Trophies isn't technically a free-to-keep game but rather a traditional free-to-play title. On October 22, the title will be delisted, so this is the final call to add it to your library.

Every Thursday at 8 AM PT, the Epic Games Store releases one or two new free games, which remain available for a week until the next batch drops. Except for mystery events held a few times per year, Epic typically reveals the upcoming freebies, so you can decide whether it is something worth keeping track of. Currently, you can add Astral Ascent and Luftrausersto your account.

For the last few months, the Epic Games Store has been giving away a free weekly mobile game, with the current one being Alone With You. You will need to download the store's app to access this title, and the link above provides the necessary steps.
Amazon Luna / Prime Gaming (Requires Amazon Prime Membership)
Free Games For GOG, Epic Games Store, and Amazon Games
Amazon Prime Gaming, aka Amazon Luna, might be the most underappreciated platform for free PC games on the market. OK, technically, accessing these titles requires an Amazon Prime subscription, so they aren't really free; however, nobody gets that service specifically for games. If you are an Amazon Prime subscriber, there is absolutely no reason not to add each one of these games, especially since they often include some pretty notable names.
